It was enjoyable at Crisis 2015 to discuss the BLB rules with author Barry Hilton.
We had upgraded our 9 Years War Game with several new units, especially cavalry, to play a rearguard attack scenario with much cavalry involved.
This created however some situations, originating from the 'all or nothing charge', which we thought were not easy to tackle from the BLB rules.
I've now started painting up a Bavarian Cuissassier Brigade. It served the French army up to 1692, when it changed sides to the Grand Alliance. Although hardly seeing service in Flanders, the Bavarians may flourish the cavalry of the Dutch/Spanish forces.
I'm looking for the right standards now to complete my first units.

Crisis 2015
Well, Crisis 2015 is gone already.
A very nice show again, It is every year a joy to see a lot of people you know, talk to them about wargaming, rules, figures, olans etc etc.
Crisis was imho wel organised (parking was a problem, but that was not the fault of TSoa) so a big thanks to all the memebers of TSoA who made this show possible; it is a lot of work each year.
Some pictures of the show underneath. of other clubs and their presentations. Sorry but we haven't their names. Exept of course he first two as these are Barry Hiltons'presentations and we used BlB for our game at Crisis with our 1960 demo.

28mm Sarissa mill
Being at Salute we bought some Sarissa stuff; one of them the 28mm post windmill in 2mm mdf.
Building it for our 28mm demo its a nice model which is very easy to build.
But imho it misses some features of this kind of mill. As you can see of the picture of a Dutch "standerdmolen" underneath, it misses it's central standard beam on which the mill itself rotates and it misses the beam (tail) which is used to get the mill into the wind. Both peaces I have added (see picture of adding in progress) plus added some extra details. I have painted the mill grey/dark red.
Crisis 2015
Greetings.
Too much time has lapsed before a new message of the Alde Garde appears but our "real" time life one way or the other limited the wargame/hobby time.
So again, Crisis 2015 is nearing and of course the Alde Garde will be present.
Our initial idea was to portray the siege of Maestricht in 1748 (15mm scale) but building (a part of the fortress of Maestricht) was too time consuming on this moment; hopefully it will see the light of day a next time (or better; a next Crisis).
So back to the drawing table and we will present a Nine Years war demo in 28mm with BLB rules.
With new terrain boards (we hope), some new terrain pieces and addititions to our 28mm existing armies.
We hope to see you there. As always we like to chat about our hobby (although it means that playing the game is sometimes forgotten).

Kasteeltuinen Arcen Eastern Medieval weekend
As in the previous message was told, we were invited to display our 1507 demo at the new small medieval museum at the Arcen castle
.Reenactors arriving through the gate.
As the lighting was not ready yet the pictures aren't of the best quality.
Impressions of the museum
We hadn't any time to visit the medieval market, battles, demonstrations etc. We only saw the guns from the museum going to play their part in the reenactment battles
Followed by the powder
