Some weeks ago there was a late medieval reenactment near the castle
of Well in the Province Limburg.
The occasion was the 775th anniversary of both the
village and castle of Well. The site still offers an impressive view of a
strong 14th century castle, surrounded by 2 moats, with in
between an also impressive outer baley.
The medieval camp was situated on a neighbouring former garden and
orchard, also surrounded by a moat and counted over 50 tents.
The camp counted a splendid tent of the Duke of Guelders, whose
retinue had to fight against an armed force that supported the local peasants.
Below some pictures that give an impression of the castle site, the camp site and reenactment.
