Hussars of Von Glasenapp- their camp and a mock battle

At the end of August the reenactment group of the Hussars of Von Glasenapp celebrated that they were raised 25 years ago. They portray the Frei Husaren in Prussian service from around 1760.

They had a weekend of festivities with a camp with more reenactors and 2 mock battles.

We were there and took some pictures of the various groups.

Museum day at the artillery museum 't harde in the Netherlands (part 2)

As said in an earlier post, we had a nice wargame day at the artillery museum in 't Harde Netherlands. We have published the wargame pictures already, so it is time to publish other pictures we took from the museum and some of the artillery pieces which were on display in the open because of the open day.

First the museum pictures which first will be about the 1940 period, followed by the other European theater and lastly the KNIL period. Sadly the building of the pré 1815 period is closed thanks to a renovation. We only could take pictures of the 54 mm artillery display of a 1812 Dutch battery. (we think made by using Historex miniatures).

Museum day at the artillery museum 't harde in the Netherlands (part 1)

As said in the title, in the Netherlands the 10th of September was the open museum day. On that day a lot of museums have an open day so no entree fee! Also, a lot of other historical sites are open for public.
The Dutch artillery museum also opens its door and combine it with a special day for the veterans of the Artillery branch of the Dutch army.

For some year now, wargames are invited to participate in the open day and always a small group of clubs attend to this open day; this year we participated (with a French Revolutionary game) for the first time.

In this first part of the post some pictures of the games are presented and  of course also of our game.

In the second part of the blogpost we will show pictures of the museum and of some of the artillery pieces which are specially presented in the open for this day. But this last group is only a small part which was visible but we sadly hadn't time enough to photograph every piece.

So on to the wargames and of course đŸ˜† starting with our own game:

The other presented wargames were all WW2 and mostly Bolt Action; pictures underneath.
